How do I get started with learning to drive?

To be able to learn to drive on uk roads you first need to make sure you have a provisional licence.

What are the requirements to obtain a driver's license?

Get your first provisional driving licence for a car.
To apply you must:

be at least 15 years and 9 months old
be able to read a number plate from 20 metres away
have been given permission to live in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) for at least 185 days

It costs £34 when you apply online.

What services do you offer as a driving school?

I offer beginner, Intermediate and semi Intensive driving lessons.

I also offer help and advice regarding the theory test.

How experienced are you?

I have been a qualified driving instructor for over 10 years and I have taught many different types of personailities.

I started my career and have been part of different franchises including BSM where I did my initial training.

I now work self employed offering driving lessons.

What type of vehicle do you provide for driving lessons?

The car is a manual, petrol five speed, Kia Picanto GT.

Dual controlled with Air conditioning.

It is great for learning to drive around Devon and Exeter as it has suffient power to get up some of our very large hills with ease as well as being a nice to size to learn to to drive.

How long is each driving lesson?

I typically offer 1.5 hour driving lessons.
I believe that this is the optimal amount of time to learn something new and then practice.

Some pupils struggle with two hour lessons and I feel that this isn't always great value for money for the students.

How many lessons do I need to become a proficient driver?

This varies from pupil to pupil and I will never make a promise of how long it will be before you can take your driving test. Typically pupils require 42 hours of professional driver training from me and 20 hours private practice if they can get someone who is willing to sit with them.

What areas do you cover for driving lessons?

I offer driving lessons in Exeter, Pinhoe, Cranbrook, Broadclyst, Whipton, Stoke Hill, Exeter University, Exeter College.

Do you offer intensive driving courses?

I offer semi Intensive driving lessons. The hours can be agreed in advance but I will typically offer 2-3 1.5 hour lessons in a week.

Can I take my driving test in your school's vehicle?

Yes, most of my pupils take their driving test using my car.
Please be aware I only make my car available when I believe you are test ready.

Do you offer discounts or packages for multiple lessons?

How do I prepare for the driving theory test?

There are many different books and software out in the world and everyone preferes something different.
